Abstract

The use of games and role plays in language teaching has become an effective pedagogical approach for developing learners’ communicative competence, motivation, and confidence. Traditional language teaching methods often focus on grammar and vocabulary memorization, whereas games and role plays create meaningful contexts for language use. This article examines the importance of games and role plays in language education, their benefits, types, and practical applications in the classroom. The findings suggest that these interactive techniques significantly enhance language acquisition by promoting active participation, critical thinking, collaboration, and authentic communication.
